Baa baa rainbow sheep...
so yeah...for ma second wee thread in Serious discussion...the lyrics to childrens nursery rhymes are being rewritten in many nursery schools across our fine little country of Britainland to avoid causing offense to children!
'Baa baa black sheep' is fast becoming 'Baa baa Happy sheep' or 'Baa baa rainbow sheep' in an atempt to avoid discrimination... Also, 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' is now called just 'Snow White'...and 'Humpty Dumpty' has to have a different 'happier' ending in order not to upset young children... Oh my dear sweet buddah...is this not just a tad ridiculous? |

The black sheep one makes no sense... as well there's the saying 'black sheep of the family' what will we say now... 'the less intergrated sheep of the family'.
We're all just too p.c.... fat= horizontally challenged, short= vertically challenged. I watched a programme about dwarves in America, and they find the word offensive (even though it is the medical word used to define the condition)... they prefer 'little people of America'.. which I think without a doubt is one of the most condescending things I've ever heard. |
