What diffrence would his sentance have been to where he was anyway? It would have been long and drawn out and a waste of a shitload of money.
He wanted to see the court case through and i think it's quite fitting that he didn't get that wish. |

Nah, i did read it and from what i read i fully understood it. The man was awaiting trial and his heart gave out on him. Im glad that the trial didn't go ahead as this was his wish. He wanted to see it through to the end and in my opion him not getting to is his karma. I dont know how these types of trials work but what i do know is that it would have cost alot of international money and that has know been saved as is death is the worst sentence they could have imposed anyway.

Confirmed Milosevic died of heart failure...but that doesn't really matter: his lawyer has made sure that his supporters will think he's been poisoned, and no amount of scientific evidence will change that.
Karma or no, all we have now is a martyr and a conspiracy theory... no justice |

Feeling sorry for the people who he commited his crimes against though, the families who wanted justice for what they and loved ones went through. Guessing how much it cost wouldnt have really mattered to them.

War crime trials are always a bit shambolic. The winner deides the looser was at fault. Did anyone answer for the bombing of Dresdon or Hiroshima in WW2? Or civilian deaths in Iraq? Or that time Rameses destroyed Syria? I think not...

Hiroshima wasn't a war-crime. Lots of people moan about it, because they want to view America as some kind of oppressive nazi regime, so they take the view that Japan would have surrendered anyway, which is an opinion, and not absolute fact. Either that, or the fact that radiation has affected future generations, because the Americans had a time machine in the 40's, that allowed them to go forward in time, to get the data about fallout that was collected through nuclear tests in the 50's and 60's.
If I were the president of a country before atomic weapons, and my country was at war with a country that instigated an attack on us, who were unlikely to surrender due to having a culture where people would rather die than suffer the "dishonour" of surrender, and the only alternative would be a long drawn out invasion, in which many of my soldiers would die, I'd drop the bomb without question. Fuck, we all talk about the Blitz being some kind of horrible terrorist act on civilians and that the Luftwafe(cant spell sorry)were evil bastards (goering was to be executed at Nuremburg for the Blitz alone, not to mention humerous other crimes against humanity)but Britain and America did the exact same thing! No one answered for it. Yes it was a time of War, but was it necessary? But the loosing side Always answers for war crimes. America dropped Two bombs on civilian areas. Would One bomb on an island like Iwo Jima not have sufficed? (ok, Iow Jima a bad example). Instead of 'Island hopping' to capture japanese fortified areas with little or no civilian presence why not drop an atomic weopon there? Im totaly rambabling, ma bad dude. Basicly my point is that the winners decide who the criminals are. |
