Exclamation U.S Troops deliberately killing Iraqi civilians?

You'll probably have heard / watched the recent reports coming out of Iraq about the alleged masacres of local Iraqi civilians by American troops, and reports of coverups by the American military. So far i've counted three different cases, the latest one is an article i've found on newsvine. Some of the pictures are pretty disturbing. Well there are only two but both are equally hard hitting and upsetting.

We're now being told that all troops in Iraq are being retrained in ethical standards in an effort to curb incidents like this.

Then there was this other report about troops shooting dead a pregnant women who was a passenger in a car on its way to hospital.

And then the new massacre tape which was release today or yesterday, i can't quite remember.

There is some good discussion on that site that i'd like to bring onto here and see what you all think. Are the American's doing a good job? They are meant to be over there bringing stability to the country, freedom and opportunity to the Iraqi's, but when reports like these surface can you really blame the Iraqi's for wanting the American troops out sooner than later... can you blame those who take up arms against the American and British troops, and those other troops serving in Iraq? Is there anything that can be done to repair relations with moderate Iraqi's who stand on the line between the extremists and those in support of the American presence?

It's definately getting worse by the day, from what I gather. I've not been over there and I'm thankful for that, and that in it's self brings up another point. What about the pressures the troops over there are feeling? Is there any excuse for them flipping their lid now and then and topping off a few local civilians?

3 American soldiers were charged with killing a prisoner this week. You could argue that the soldiers are under tremendous pressure in an extremely volitile situation, but then again they are trained to the highest standard and some may have experienced this before in other conflicts so is there any excuse for this?

There have been a few cases brought to light recently and that begs the question 'How many other cases are there that go un-noticed, ignored or not reported?' Especially in a country the size or Iraq.
