George Galloway on Sky News this morning
I was getting ready to head out this morning after I’d finished watching Sky News’ coverage on the conflict between Israel and Lebanon when they announced that they were about to interview George Galloway and decided to stay until after the interview because I know how aggressive he can be when he is putting forward his points, and today was no different. I’ve never seen any politicians get so worked up in interviews before George came to the fore after his local election victory in Bethnal Green.
He has always been a staunch supporter of the Palestinians and the Lebanese infact it seems he’s a staunch supporter of anyone but the Americans, Israelis or the British. I do think however that people like him are good for politics as a whole because while everyone agrees he’s the one that brings the taboo subjects to the table for discussion and always goes against the grain, and it’s things like that which attract the attention of youth who would otherwise ignore politics altogether. However sure he is passionate about his job and his opinions but I think the manner in which he goes about it could be improved. Some manners would help. Calling the sky news interviewer a ’silly person’ and having a ‘4 week memory’ was a bit harsh. He was right though, this conflict isn’t about the kidnapping of two Israeli Defense Force soldiers 4 weeks ago but the Israeli occupation 20 years ago. This has been in the works for decades and people shouldn’t ignore the history between the two and its relevance in todays conflict. The interview

I must admit, i'm not too clued up on whats been going on. I've learned more about whats been going on in that interview than looking at BBC News now and again. I pretty much agree with what George said on that interview.
