159mph Policeman found guilty-ish...

So this policeman drives at 159mph in an unmarked police car, and in the same "training jaunt" also does 90 in a 30 zone. He gets caught, taken to court, and let off with it. Which is a fucking joke.

The High Court say "Hang on lads, we smell shite", and the boy gets re-tried. He gets found guilty, and you're thinking "Jail time, or at least a driving ban and a hefty fine."

Nope. The judge basically says "You're guilty of some of the most dangerously over-zealous driving anyone's ever seen on a public road. But you've been through a lot, what with having to get up every day to come to court, and all the people saying bad things about you, that you're an unsafe driver and a disgrace to the police, who are always on about road safety. So tell you what, you're free to go."

WHAT IN THE NAME OF SHITTING CRIKEY IS ALL THAT ABOUT?

How the fuck can you justify that? Ordinary civilian boy does 39 in a 30 zone and gets a speeding ticket - 60 quid fine and 3 penalty points. Policeman, A FUCKING MAN OF THE LAW, does 90 in a 30, and is caught red-handed gunning it at 160 mph and, OK, gets convicted, but dodges any form of real punishment.

And the judge? Fuck knows what's going on there. "You're guilty. But you've sat through a trial, so off you pop." Maybe this will become a recurring theme of contemporary justice - "Oh dear, you've killed someone. That's bad. But some people shouted at you outside, so that's us even."

heehee too true

but this sort of thing is really annoying, fair enough his trial would have been stressful but then so is most people's trials stressful (except those who dont care that much and are just really cheeky to everyone who is present in court). What really annoys me about this is the whole wrecklessness of it all, if he had hit someone he would have killed them, fooking idiot. Speeding really annoys me now, most people have been there and done it - myself included but having realised how stupid it was (and those adverts about speeding helped) I always try to watch my speed.
