lol I saw this on the New Scientist site.

As an evolutionary biologist, I have never read a bigger pile of steaming shite in my entire life. At least New Scientist was poking fun at it (not least that the whole premise is rather blatantly plagiarised from HG Wells) - I get the distinct impression the whoever was doing the write-up for the BBC thought it a worthy tidbit of scientific endeavor.

Actually when I think about it, most of the science writing on the BBC is pretty horrendous...

PS has anyone else noticed that the so called 'expert' is from the London School of Economics? not exactly a hotbed of biological endeavor last time I checked
