Anyway, Pubic Wig and alien_syndm seem to be rather conspicuous by their absence at the moment.

This seems to be a common ploy for Christians, when they cannot win the argument they just refuse to discuss it. Two members of my parents church have been refusing to discuss their faith for weeks now....

I do have other things to do than post on UGS you know. Half the reason I gave up posting on UGS in the first place is because some of the attitudes displayed in this thread. Alien_ashfdlsjknfsdl ......can you not read or something ? It's hardly a random set of letters, syndm = syndrome.
A little bit of tolerance and common courtesy isn't too much to ask surely ?
Would you behave this way towards someone you met in the street or the pub ?

Even the mere inkling of someone professing a belief in God and you descend like a hoard of vultures to a kill and devour them. Everyone seems so 100% sure of their position. Are you really that certain ? I certainly amn't. I have doubt, I question myself and my beliefs all the time. I think that's only human. So little objectivity appears in people's thought here. I think it's a healthy thing but people seem to consider it as some sort of weakness.

I don't think it's that Christians are unwilling to discuss their faith. I think it might be that some Christians are unwilling to discuss their faith with Thee Alex because of his attitude. I can't imagine why of course.
I am trying but it's not easy when everyone is against you.
Perhaps if you were a little more tolerant and understanding people would be more willing to talk to you Alex. The thing is I fear the only reason you wish to converse with them is so you can try and pick apart everything they believe and "convert" them to your own brand of intellectually superior atheism. Almost ironic as it's those types of people you seem to have such a problem with. Something to think about maybe ?

If a god does exist and is omnipresent (and all the other omni's) why doesn't it just appear to atheists (and all the religions that are wrong) to prove it's existence? It's bound to have time on it's hands, being that it can be everywhere and has unlimited power it wouldn't take that much. Would it?

If anyone claims that religion harms no-one then I would advise them to read this story about a 22 year old mother who refused blood due to her misguided beliefs in an non-existent sky god.

This credulous, stupid, selfish woman has, through her stubborn refusal to accept much needed blood during the delivery of her twins, deprived her husband of his wife, her children of their mother, her parents of their child.... the ripples of grief and loss from this expand out across many many people.

It makes me so angry I could cry.
