Which only goes to back up my point, cos that's something else people who REALLY believe do.

She allowed herself to die, and caused a lifetime of pain to those close to her. How is that different from a suicide bomber? They both thought they were doing the will of 'god', they both knew their actions would hurt others, is there a difference?

Innocent people have been hurt just as much as if someone had blown themselves up, the method and number of those hurt is irrelevant.

Religion isn't like TV though, is it? All religion is based on belief without fact. All religion IS wrong.

i hope thats 'in your opinion' , because i dont think anyone is in an authority to say that religion IS wrong , it very much depends on what u take from it , whether you use it to keep you a good person , or whether you believe that it will keep you sweet in the afterlife. Religion is a very personal expirience and its up to the individual to be subjective about it and decide if they think it is right or wrong!

so subtle.... but .. the flaw there is that "that religion" actual damns suicide in general practise , if i am led to be correct, and that the work of the extremists is fueled from a different source ...

This has, so far, been one of the best threads I've ever read on UGS.

That's because your wording was "you believe religion is wrong ? where are your facts for this belief?". If you read through the 40pages looking for Alex's post you will see why he has come to this conclusion.

But even looking at his posts , he consinstently implies that religion is wrong , and my last sentence aside , my intentions of what i said were really to make sure that his comments were IN HIS OPINION... because it is a tad bold to blurt out religion IS wrong... , rather he should have said he thinks religion is wrong ..

But, if you actually read the thread you'll see that its not his opinion it is his interpretation of the evidence, or lack thereof on the part of the adherents of religion. Without reading the thread you are completely without context as to whether he is being a tad bold or not.

Hey thebigyin04,

Reasons that I claim that religion is wrong -

1. The religious books of the worlds main faiths are riddled with inconsistencies, not the sign of being 'divinely inspired'.

2. Those same books command their adherents to kill others for not agreeing with them.

3. Those books also make claims about the history of the Earth that have been proven to be entirely and utterly wrong, time and time again.

4. Those books are the ONLY SOURCE believers have for their beliefs. Beliefs based on the 'accuracy' of their holy books.

I think taking those 4 things into account I can safely describe religion as 'wrong'.
