Sometimes I wish I'd been born 3-5 centuries later, so I could go off and start a colony on another planet, where religion, and people in general that don't live by the rule "don't be dicks to other people" would not be welcome. Then I'd just leave the inhabitants of this festering shithole of a planet to wallow in their own hatred of anyone that is not like them, until finally they annihilate themselves.

But then, no matter the original intentions of those that came with me, it'd be guaranteed that within 2-3 generations, people would find reasons to be complete cunts to one another for absolutely no reason, and we'd be right back to square one.

Some of the people on that BBC have your say disgust me.

That people born into the western world, with the rights and freedoms that come with it, would act as apologists for the most brutal infringements of human rights under the guise of "they're a sovereign nation", or "it's their culture", is pretty sickening to me.

It seems that to these people, anything a government does to its citizens is A-OK, regardless of whether or not the people in that country were given the choice to have that government, or not.

I'm not saying we should invade those countries and force democracy on them, but we shouldn't justify the shitty things that dictatorships do to their citizens, under the guise of "it's their culture".
