fair enough, i dont know enough about this particular part of it really, as i say i hadnt even heard of it until i saw this!

This programme did say however, that this concept was not in the bible and originated from a minister of some sort, i think just last century?

i dont know if im completley wrong here, but the idea i saw was that christians would leave earth and all be beamed up to heaven! i cant remember anything about this particular belief (about this rapture) that had jesus rise and rule earth!

well i was mostly wrong! just had a look at a web page i just found The Rapture Theory: It's Surprising Origin since i could only remember bits and pieces of this documentary.

apparently christ does come back (invisibley of course!) to save all christians.

according to this and a few other pages i looked at the rapture isnt from the bible, but many sections from the bible have been taken and put together to end up with this theory.

The 'Kingdom of God' is meant to be on Earth, if the Bible is to be taken as 'Truth'. It's one of the absolute central teachings of Christianity that Jesus will return to eventually rule the Earth for 1000 years before passing it all over to 'God'.


Sounds like this show you watched wasn't exactly packed with accuracy...

The Bible clearly states (in the verses I quoted earlier) that some people will be taken and others left behind. That's the 'rapture' in all but name.

Not sure where this idea that Christ would return invisibly comes from, in the Bible he's meant to return in clear sight, so that people won't be able to deny that he's here.

I spent a few hours reading through that forum recently.
The vast majority is people taking the piss out of them but you can gather enough information to get an idea about their world view.
Bascially, it breaks down that it's all part of a conspiracy perpetuated by the UN. They cite the UN symbol as evidence of that they know the Earth is flat. Photos from orbit are fakes, google is in on the conspiracy, even when you see the curvature of the Earth from an aeroplane it's the UN making the airlines install "special glass" which distorts your view.
