Defilement Of Gig Announcement.... Threads
I think you should set up a "Hardcore Discussion Forum" for all the people who insist upon arguing about the timeless subject of who is or isnt or is more "Hardcore". The reason for this is the annoying, frustrating and pointless descending of several threads on the "Gig announcements....." forum into endless, answerless debate on an irrelevant subject. Surely if these people want to have it out from behind their computers, this is fair enough, but they should not be allowed to disrupt and ruin threads designed for
a)informing prospective gig goers of an event b)Discussion between fans of a band or bands about their upcoming show. Surely the predictable flaming of many a thread by certain "trolls" cannot be permitted and should be registered henceforth as "Spam"? If these people want to argue they should do it out of people's faces. |

i have a hack that i am about to incorporate that will allow gig announcement threads to be closed instantly. I'll create a sub forum where people can link to threads where people are free to discuss the gigs. This will help solve to problem and was something i was planning on doing anyway.

Eh aye, that's a good idea. I'm guilty of prolonging such arguments, but never of starting them. Sorry. There's only one or two people that are always behind these things anyway, usually because they think it's cool to slate the band that the thread is about.

i dont the problem with an argument which is pertinent of the gig in question.
im not sure which thread pretend little hc kid rob got offended at, but the if it was the etid one i dont see why, its a corporate show taking place to take money and little know it all kids think its a travesty that etid are supporting sg. HELLO, the arent. a point which no one was able to counter. i dont see why the discussions cant carry on, they cause no harm and if people cant defend themselves then they should put up ludicrous arguments in the first place. |

any thread about a gig that could even remotly be called hardcore is now subject to a really tedious argument. The people involved in the argument normally have nothing at all to say about the gig, other than 'it looks shite, and those bands aren't really hardcore'. the forum is supposed to be for announcing gigs, looking for gigs, arranging gig swaps, NOT for launching pseudological arguments about what is or isn't 'hxc'.
on the most basic level, it means anyone interested in the gig has to trawl through four pages of utter shit before they can find out who is going and if they can get a lift, what time the doors are at and all the stuff the forum is MEANT to be for. |

"those bands aren't really hardcore'"
thats only ever said if some idiot makes a wild claim about what is. i dont see the need for a hc forum as i dont see it being that busy except for a few people up there own arse sniping if someone posted anything, the need to seperate it is as patronising as your girls area is. |

who are you steve? you seem to think you know me awful well.
i was actually protesting at you wrecking several threads and making them nigh-on unreadable for people who actually do want to go to the gigs. i'm not big on ETID but people who are should be allowed to read it in peace. |

umm, if the night as billed as a hardcore night, or a diy night... then ill feel the need to keep it real and make a correction as and when required. also, if people start writing stupid incorrect statements that are quite obviously incorrect, ill make a coheerent statement explaining why i think they are wrong.
and yeah rob, i can make some accurate assumptions based on your previous posts, your band and the fact that you are 16 or something... that might be bad, but its the way it is |

thats my point- you get into these arguments that never have any relevance to the thread. its a fucking pain.
the fact that you make all sorts of assumptions about people you dont even know based on fuck all is annoying, but i could put up with that if you weren't such a fucking spammer. |

how am i am spammer? that makes no sense.
the assumptions are wild, they are based on musical prefrence, language skills, the points they are putting across and any supporting evidence... messenger conversations, online profiles etc. its really easy to be accurate. |
