OK, I have hit 500 posts......so why can't I have a custom avatar?

I couldnt get one till I had 503 posts, i dont know why, I think there might be a little lag between you getting the required posts and being able to have your custom profile pic and avatar

I can put the URL in the box, but when I click on save changes it just says that I've selected "Do not use an avatar"...hmmm, what does that mean?

it means you've selected to not chose an avatar

No, the problem is that I didn't select that, it selects it itself...
