Undergroundscene Subscription Based Services...

After spending Â£140 of my own cash this month on the site i've decided that i cant do it any longer so i've come up with some ways to aleviate the financial burden on my wallet.

I've created two new subscriptions that allow users who purchase them (on a monthly basis) a variety of perks.

1. Premium User (Â£2 monthly)

larger avatar (80x80 / 35k)
larger pm inbox (120 msgs)
larger profile pic (35k)
500K attachment quota
site search abilities
exclusive forum access (2 new forums at the mo)
ability to see who left you rep.
ability to change own username through points shop
ability to have your username in bold text through points shop
ability to have your username in italics through points shop
can have your own UGS journal
can add comments to other peoples journals

2. Premium Plus User (Â£5 monthly)

larger avatar (80x80 / 35k)
larger pm inbox (140 msgs)
larger profile pic (35k)
1Mb attachment quota
site search abilities
exclusive forum access (2 new forums at the mo)
ability to see who left you rep.
ability to change own username through points shop
ability to change other users custom title through points shop
ability to stick threads through points shop
ability to have your username in bold text through points shop
ability to have a coloured username text through points shop
ability to have a glowing username through the points shop
ability to have your username in italics through points shop
can have your own UGS journal
can add comments to other peoples journals
can edit journal and journal entries
can delete journal and journal entries
can search journal(s) and journal entries

At the moment registered and regular users have an attachment quota of 200 and 300k respectively, so you're gettin a fair chunk more, as well as a healthy inbox and more scope for impressive avatars.

There will also be some new forums on the way that will only be accessible through holding one of those two membership subscriptions.

I'd appreciate your views and opinions on this.

new Registered and existing Regular Users may find that they cannot post more attachments as they have reached their quota limit. To free up space you can go to http://www.undergroundscene.co.uk/up...ditattachments and remove any old attachments that you dont require to be on the site anymore.

This is a good idea. One step in the right direction for a bigger avatar, if i get a subscription can me and BlAcKeNeD get the technology forum?

no no, the subs are only optional, you'll still be able to use the site as you are now, but if you subscribe using one of the two options you'll also get some added bonuses and new forums.

c'mon! £2 a month! and you don't even have to pay it

only problem is, won't paypal charge us like £5 for each £2 we give you? I never got round to understanding Paypal or nochex or any of those things.

To be honest, it's a good idea in theory, but I can't see many people actually paying anything.

I think the best plan would be regular gigs featuring ugs bands, and the money going towards the site, seeing as it's the bands that benefit most from the site anyway.

Maybe even other UGS events aside from gigs could be a possibilty, like the barbecue we were going to have last year, we could arrange one for the summer and have a load of people making food and charge a little bit for it, instead of everyone bringing their own, or else just have donations towards the site.

Just a few ideas to think about ...

well there is going ot be a meeting of the street team pretty soon so we'll hopefully have a host of fresh ideas to put into practice.

I'm thinking the gig thing is probably the best and fairest way of raising funds for the site.
