I think we should go with the Updates as soon as,

Quicker we get them done, the quicker the hack will come out, and if we get it done now, less shutdown time it will be for you guys, and kinda less work in a pile for Kj.

I would miss the points system, it was a little added bit of fun. However, updates happen all the time - part of nature - so I await the change.

Q: What would happen regarding avatars? Would everyone be able to choose their own, would it be done on the number of posts or would it be one of the specialised things for subscribers?

theres nothing wrong with a bit of green lovin, i like it when i get some green, but i dont think i would wake someone up to tell them...

It depends. The number of points I have, and the number of points I have in the bank are stored in the database aren't they? Which means that when you eventually get the new mods, things will carry on where they left off in terms of how many points we have?

yes. All info on the site is stored in a database. When the mods are ported to the new version of the software all the info should be retrieved again.

If its an essential upgrade then i think yeah you should do it. Im a relative newbie on the site so perhaps im not as attached to the extras as peeps who have been around much longer but still if it needs to be done, it needs to be done.

That's what I thought. In that case, I'll vote go ahead with the upgrade. I don't really use the mods much. I just like to keep all my points around in case I subscribe one day.
