i really want to upgrade the site but...

It will result in the loss of all addons (galleries, journals, points shop etc) other than the galleries and articles system.

Should we go ahead with it?

There are things integral to the site, the board, articles and the gallery. Everything else is expendable. What i want to know from everyone is will they miss the extras? The extras may come back in the future when their programmers release versions for the new software. THe reason they aint available yet is because the new software is a major release which improves performance of the site and offers a few more bits of functionality, oh and its also alot more secure.

Please choose what you think and please everyone vote on this because i need as much feedback as possible. And post any questions or concerns you may have here.

If we go for the upgrade i'll make sure subscibers get more privelages (more pms, bigger gallery space etc) to make up for the losses (no journal etc) they might see when we do the upgrade.

nah i don't think you will.

Does that mean the arcade will be gone? if it is then don't upgrade, it's good if you're on a school computer and you're bored.

everything as you see currently will remain appart from the arcade, points system and journals. These three items are not really integral to the aim of UGS and so i consider them non-essential.

Your post counts wont change, nothing like that. All posts, forums etc will remain. Its the same company that makes the software, they have just released a major release.

There are no add ons that will be available to make up for losses though, such as Skype integration (talk to other forum members through the web for free), RSS feeds, Google integration and a few other much more useful features.

its not change, its essentially the same software functionality wise, you wont notice a difference in the way it works. To be honest its pretty essential. The major changes are stuff that you dont see; the actual inner workings of it.

Lots of sites that use vbulletin have started their upgrades to the newest version of the software and i dont want UGS to fall behind.
