i dont care what the reviews are about, just send them to us, they can be reviews, thoughts, essays etc, anything which may be of interest to the people that use this site every day, along with pictures and drawings etc. Now that i have finished University, i have all this time on my hands to make the site bigger and better, but it'll need help. You're going to see alot of changes on the site in the near future. Good changes.

Ok KJ you asked for comments about the review so here goes "HORSESHIT" Dull dreary Aberdeen and nasty old Rosemary were the reason the two bands in question played a poor gig? no I dont think so.
Lets put it another way, a gig in Dundee, its a pissing rain Wednesday night in term time, two out of town bands are playing at an unpopular gig with no local support (didnt understand that) how HUGE a crowd would you expect? Let me tell you how many you would get "fuck all" If you promoted the fuck out of it, fly posted (which like Aberdeen you cant do) told local radio, press etc etc you would get 20odd, am I right, or what?
If you say I'm wrong, prove it, put on two Aberdeen bands, no local support, check with the met office that its going to be the wettest few days since records began, AND PROVE ME WRONG.
All I'm saying is, dont blame Aberdeen for the bands poor performance, as I said in another post, Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth if we got our acts together we would be a strong force on the Uk music scene, and publicly dissing Aberdeen doesnt help.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I've re-read my review and although it may seem a little bit harsh, i would have written the same thing had the gig been in Dundee.
Everything is said in that review could be relevant to a gig anywhere, not just Aberdeen, and i have stressed previously the same points that you put in your feedback, about various scenes coming together rather than moving apart.
If i wanted to rip the piss out of Aberdeen, i would, but thats not my style. I've been to Aberdeen only twice now and see nothing wrong with it. The review is based on a single day, and so if people take that review as a diss to the whole of Aberdeen, then you are not reading the review properly.
Also, i wasnt intentionally placing the blame on anyone at all, the venue was at fault for not putting up the flyers the band had sent them. The crowd was non-existent due to various factors, including the rain and the bands played below usual standard.
You are correct about the lack of local support, but as far as i know, the venue asked the two bands to play for them.
Anyway, i thank you for your feedback. If you feel so strongly, i will remove and reference to any negative points i make about Aberdeen.

All i got from that review was anti Aberdeen, anti Malt mill, you cant make any excuse for a bands poor performance, it is always the bands fault.
No crowd, no excuse, if 1 person is there to see you, they should get the full show.

Technical problems, no excuse, be better prepared.

Band members sick or pissed off, no excuse, the punters dont care.

The review (in my opinion) was negative, and excuse ridden.
No way do I want you to change your review, but you asked for comment and thats what you got.

I'm only defending Aberdeen as you would defend Dundee, dont read too much into my post's Im a grumpy old cunt.

Hey guys, cool off a bit.

We did play pish, end of story. As for the whole "getting together thing" that's EXACTLY what Ive been working on for the past 3 months!!!!

On the 4th of July 6 BANDS will play (2 from Dundee, 1 from Arbroath, 1 from PERTH, 1 from GLENROTHES and 1 from ABERDEEN!)

I have FLYERED IT TO FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! for the past 3 months. Does anyone actually really care that I've gone to the effort to put down the barriers between towns? Or I'm I fighting a losing battle?

As for the weather, I don't blame people for not turning up, I'm just pissed off that the Malt Mill blamed us for no turn out when I sent them 50 flyers a week in advance.

Let's hope that some open mindness comes from this gig on the 4th. I do however totally credit Sirius and Quik for making an appearance...but I bet they wish they didn't

Everything is cool. i'll just have to make sure my reviewing technique does what it is meant to in future.

I'll be in Arbroath tonight, although i shall have to wait and see if i actually make it to the venue for the gig or not, i have a birthday party in the town also.
