can't you stick it on a memory card or something?
I don't know exactly how YDL works, but I put gentoo linux on mine by sticking it on a memory stick. The installer for that was tiny though, so would've fitted on a CD. Still doesn't help much if you can't download it. I'd just do it on a friend's PC. |

once i had set up the HD on the ps3 to reserve 10gb for otheros i installed the "otheros" bootloader and the 2 went thru the menu till it got to the insert the cdrom and i go "wit the fuck this is a dvd........" wouldnt recognise it bla bla. Iv got a 2GB card for my psp that fits the ps3. Is gentoo any good?- all im really wanting linux is for playing Divx files (sick fed up converting them to mp4s) cause my ps3 seems to be downloading tv episodes from www.joox.net realy fecking fast around 10 mins somtimes 5 mins for an episode of lost (350ishmb) And for better internet access- realy fed up only able to watch trailers or vids from youtube cause i dont have the latest flash player etc.... |

Gentoo's a bad idea if that's all you want it for, you need to compile everything from source, so installing it will take ages. You'd be much better off trying to get YDL to work.
Sounds like you downloaded YDL for apple, not YDL for ps3. I'd give you the DVD, but I'm in Edinburgh and don't have any blank DVDs at the moment ![]() |

Iv been tinkering with it the past few days and its growing on me. got divx files running on it, but struggling to stream divx films from sites- i get the sound but no picture so i just revert to downloading the divx movie file then watching it on vlc. its great i cant wait to finish work today cause i downloaded Transformers this morning- took me 15 mins. I watch the start and was realy tempted to bunk off work to watch it! Any tips for linux geesa shout! cheers man |
