Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

I can safely say it's one of the best games I've ever played.
The boss battles are a little too easy and some of the cut scenes go on a little too long, especially mid-game. I'll admit I play the MGS games 20% for the game play and 80% for the story...but even I got fed up sitting through 20-25 minutes of cut scenes, and installing the next part of the game.
I'm something like 75% through at the moment but my little brother (who has the time to play PS3 all day) has already completed it already and he says the end is totally breathtaking.

Has anyone else got this game?

Do I need to play the other 3 first? I've heard great things about this but never got round to playing any of the other ones.

ive only ever played 2, and it was nice enough to have cut scenes that explained (enough to not get totally lost) what happened in the first one.

This one backtracks nicely so newcomers have an idea about whats going on and for players of the older MGS games there is a flashback feature put into the cut scenes at certain parts where it prompts you to press the x button for a still image of a character or scene from the previous games that it relevant to whats being discussed during the scene. They are done so well infact they don't interfere with the flow of the cut scene at all.

I just completed this Yesterday on Solid Normal (Normal) and i fancy my chances at Big Boss Extreme.

My Favorite parts of this experience had to be

Spoiler:

Rex Vs Ray on a fully destructible battleground
Snakes shadow moses "dream"
the next Gen shadow Moses
the cutscene where Liquid puts the guns of the patriots plan into action
Johnny taking a shit in the barrel
the octocamo system
the in game graphics during the bike chase part

I could go and on....

need i even mention the end sequence! haha... just get the popcorn ready is all im saying.

Just completed it tonight, got the rank 'Hawk'...pretty happy with that.
The end is just...so...right.
