you know....... all my friends love evil dead 3, they thinks its a comedy masterpiece, and i can see why, but, i just dont find it funny. i have been shouted at many a time by my friends about it, and one time made to sit facing the corner in shame, actually.
i like the first two tho... that is all. |

Early 70's to early 80's was the best decade of horror for me. All that classic Italian stuff like:
Argento (Suspiria, Tenebrae) Fulci (Zombie, The Beyond, House by the Cemetery) Deodato (Cannibal holocaust, House on the edge of the park) and the US stuff: Craven (Last house on the left, Hills have eyes) Romero (Dawn of the dead, The Crazies) Raimi (Evil Dead) There's a dozen of the best horror flicks ever made and all from that 10 year period. Chuck in other stuff like Maniac, Cannibal Apocalypse, The Exorcist, The Burning, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Nightmares in a Damaged Brain and Texas Chainsaw Massacre and there just isn't any other decade which even comes close for classic horror movies. Just like the early 80's to early 90's were the best for punk, metal and hardcore. ![]() The Jap stuff is definitely right up there with the gore and exploitation, but they're still not in the same league atmosphere wise - music, lighting and direction are lacking in most Jap horror i've seen. Maybe it's a culture thing but what the Italian's lack in story + script they sure as hell make up for with amazing atmosphere which is what horror is all about...
