Just now I'm reading an article called Whaddya Lookin' At... However, what I'll be reading when I go for a crap/bed is a book called When the Eagle Hunts by Simon Scarrow.

I know it sounds really pretentious but he's fairly well known and has written 2 of my all time favourites (and a really good non-fiction book).
His books are really weird, especially 'The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle'. It's a modern masterpiece though if you can get into it.

I love his description of the mundane and the everday things and how he can twist things into something so surreal.

An easier way into his work is 'Norwegian Wood', some people might have read this? It's considered probably his best.. check it out, really, i'll be surprised if you're letdown.

I really want to visit Japan.
best writer in the world! well... his last 2 books have been pretty pish but all the others are still awesome.

I bought that from a charity shop and I've never read it either! haha

I didn't enjoy reading Coupland. I've only read Shampoo Planet, Girlfriend in a Coma and Miss Wyoming but only "girlfriend..." actually entrertained me,

My girlfriend has most of them but his style of writing quite bores me. a bit like chuck palahnuik. his stories are good, but his style of writing is starting to annoy me.

Nice typo! Hehehe!

Have read loads over the holidays. Just finished "On Beauty" by Zadie Smith which was good, and about to start "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova, which is apparently an update on "Dracula" but in modern times. Might be OK, we shall see!

Didn't notice this till today! Murakami is fucking ace. Ive read Sputnik Sweetheart, The Wind up Bird Chronicle and also The Elephant Vanishes which is a collection of short stories. His narrative style is really different and the events and characters in the books are so bizarre, but somehow believeable. Excellent author.

I'm reading Michael Jackson: The Magic and the Madness.

It's good so far, very imformative. I'd guess it wouldn't be overly interesting to a non-Michael Jackson fan though.

I'm currently getting to grips with this "work", it's pretty heavy going though and takes a while to really get going.
