Carter Beats the Devil by Glen David Gold
It's a fantastic read so far. As far as debut books go this is a winner.

"What's Wrong With Eating People?" - Peter Cave
An entertaining and interesting, if not particularly penetrating, discussion of some philosophical, moral, ethical and logical problems. It's good, but a quarter of the way in I'm thinking of relegating it to a "dipping in" reference book, perhaps something for the toilet. He only spends three or four pages giving an overview and explanation of each problem before moving on. More an encyclopedia of dilemmas and "iffy" situations than a proper book with a proper thread. |

I've just finished Pies and prejudice: in search of the North by Stuart Maconie. It was extremely funny but also informative and I think I'll probably buy Cider with roadies next.
