I bought it yesterday before work. Read it during work and finished it sometime this morning about 11am. I didn't stay up reading it all night or anything though, I value my sleep far too much to do that.

I had my suspicions about the Half Blood Prince before the book, I was entirely wrong but as I was reading the book new suspicions began to form and I was right! Not that it was that hard to figure out though to be honest.

I really liked the book, I thought it was maybe a bit slow to start off but not in a bad way.

I wonder what the film version will be like.

Did she say why?

I'm just curious, I'm not going to get all angry and say "YOU'RE WRONG", it's not like everyone's going to like it.

Spoiler:
"it seemed kind of 'fan-servicy' (just to please the fans, particuarly the ones that write fan-fiction, as opposed to rowling making the best of her creative talents), snape being the half-blood prince was ridiculous and poorly pulled off, and the new potions teacher reminds me too much of gilderoy lockhart from the second book, showing a lack of creativity there as well. also, the ending was badly written and didn't really work properly. also, noone is showing that much emotion about the fact that sirius died inthe fifth book."

i dont get everyone's big deal with 18year olds reading harry potter.

I read the first book in 1997, when i was 11. It's a good story and you want to know what happens in the end.

P.S. It's a good book. Better than the 5th. Also Lindsay, ask your sister what was wrong with the end?

Spoiler:
"it just doesn't seem to conclude properly. at the end harry, ron and hermione are just talking at the end of the funeral and he's saying "i'm not going to want to go back to hogwarts even if it does open again" and after that it just sort of really...an ending is supposed to tie up the loose ends..."

i asked her if maybe that's to lead on to the next book but she says

"even so, it should tie things up better. maybe my english class (she's a bit of an english genius at school. if nothing else ) is just making me picky!"

i make a damn good audio typist!
