it reminds me a little bit of "that'll teach em", the programme about the kids who were put in an old-style school (1960s style?). there was a geography lesson - noone knew where bristol was, someone thought belfast was where dublin was and someone who came from london pointed to london when asked where glasgow was.
also, jools oliver seems like a bit of a psycho. but their kids are the cutest little girls ever! |

the adverts horrified me too much to even bother remembering to watch the program, I'd hate my kids to be like that
I was veggie for about 5 years tho.. but still vegginess aside, not being able to tell the difference between the leek and a kiwi? :S |

I used to think my brother was annoying for not eating vegetables since they didn't 'have a nice texture' or 'didn't look nice'. But kids not knowing what fucking leek is...that's appalling! Being a vegetarian for nearly 10 years and having no intentions of turning back, my kids will know what all vegetables are! Maybe apart from aubergine. Blugh.

did they honestly think that a cow was only a logo? Jesus, I'm glad I didn't grow up like that (as others have already said). It's really stupid that the kids won't even bother trying the food because it looks bad. I remember in primary school at lunchtime, in the dinner queue one kid didn't want to try the food "because the texture looked nasty"...
Hah I remember That'll Teach 'Em, so many kids there were reminiscent of people I actually do know... The Geogrpahy lesson Lindsay described was hilarious, and I also liked the Sophie (can't remember if that was her exact name...) girl got into trouble all the time, got really sick of it all, and buggered off. She was amusing, I bet she regrets quitting though. |

I cannot tell you how much this programme frustrates me! However, I will continue watching it because I secretly enjoy it.
I wanted to slap that boy who wouldn't eat the raspberries or the spicy chicken wrap for £100... "nah really Jamie, I'll be sick if I eat it" - yeah right. Jeez, I would have eaten it right up, it looked so good... Food is meant to be savoured; there are so many flavours to be experimented with, so many flavours that we're yet to enjoy... I really love experimenting and trying new things - savouring the flavours, and I just don't understand it when people refuse to try anything new. Meh. |
