Lost Appreciation Thread
I think I'm going to appreciate this LOTS!
If it's half as good as the enigmatic trailers then this will be the second best drama series of the year. The best being Sugar Rush. (actually, i lie... it's Deadwood.) Sure i will post here with my thoughts after the opening two episodes! Channel 4 at 8.30 and again at 10.00. |

what a fucking good show, pity about the whole castaway-meets-the-ending-to-deep-rising like plot, i mean jesus christ, jurassic park like roars, masses of forrest being flattened, the entire front end of a jumbo jet being belted about like a toy and the comedy of the pilot being plucked thru the cockpit window like a massive beastie would howk at crisps.
considering this show is based within the boundaries of reality and that the largest known amazonic animal is probably a gorilla, they've either landed on that island where sir dickie attenborough breeds his dinocerous's or they've found real giant panda's* *FACT ALERT! typical giant panda's are smaller than polar bears and mini metro's, giant my arse. |

i love it, it has more cliche's than an american soap, and guess what? it's an american soap :P
there's already a crim on the run, a single maw, a hero, a heroine, a heroin addict and the obligatory sexist chinamen. seriously though, i quite enjoyed it. |

I thought it was excellent.
I think it's reality based in the same way as Twin Peaks and The Blair Witch Project. It's keeping people guessing about the nature of the island, of the characters and of the plane crash. I think as the layers are slowly peeled off it will become more and more intriguing. Initially the characters do seem like cliches but I think that's the point... remember we've got 20 episodes or so ahead of us and a whole lot of backstory. And that's just the first series. Brilliant production of course... beautifully shot, effective score, excellent editing. A great mixture of boy's own adventure, suspense horror and human drama. Huzzah! |

Yeah I also think its meant to be cliched. Its just way too obvious a cliche for it not to be meant.
The story seems to be flowing along nicely and im quite liking alot of the side stories developing. Seems like I have a reason to watch tv now the world cup isnt on!! |
