Curb Your Enthusiasm

It's quite possible some of you may have started watching this with the arrival of More4. If not, I suggest you check it out because it's the funniest show to come along in quite a while. It's kinda a cross between Woody Allen, Alan Partridge, the cringe inducing bits in the Office and Seinfeld (which Larry David, the show's star, co-wrote, tho I was never massive on that myself).

For those that are avid watchers, what are your favourite episodes/moments? I really like the ones with Crazy Eyes Killah & The Corpse Sniffing Dog. It could be almost any out of the 40 i've seen though.

"Wang isn't a bad first name. Wang. Then you got the whole "-ang" family. Fang, Bang, Tang."

Every time I see an episode I like it more and more. I've missed most of the first two series, so still have those to watch on DVD!

Do you find that at least once a day you find yourself in or imagine up a "Curb" situation? I've got at least a season's worth of ideas!

And when the stress levels rise just hum that little tune...

I think the 3rd season is my favourite so far. 4 was great but it's comparable to series two of 'I'm Alan Partridge', in that it wasn't as subtle as what had gone before. I love the bit on one of the season 4 episodes when Cheryl and Larry pretend to be republicans to gain membership to a golf club (and earlier in that episode, Larry says to Suzie 'You're much more of a Jew-face than me!).

I find that watching an episode before work makes me feel a bit more empowered. So, for instance, if I have to deal with an arsehole for a customer I think to myself, what would Larry David do in this situation.

HBO's missing a trick by not producing WWLDD? tshirts and bracelets!

Edit: or maybe just WWLD? sounds like good official merchandise to me!

Totally.

Larry: [to various passerby] You know anything about changing a tire? Wanna help me change a tire here? No? I could use a little help. I need a little assistance. I never took a shop class, and I need a little help. Ok, I'm just coming flat out and saying 'help me'. Anybody want to help a semi-retarded individual change a tire? 25, 30 dollars. 30 dollars to change this tire. 35 dollars to change this tire right now.
[People are ignoring him]
Larry: I'll give you 10 dollars for a verbal response. 10 dollars. Anybody want to make 10 dollars and respond verbally? No?

Heh, it's my favourite current comedy.

Actually, The Thick Of It probably edges it, but it's good stuff.

I'm only basing this on the few I've seen, mind.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is great. I've watched a couple of the episodes on More4 but I keep missing them...My mum can't stand it. She hates the awkwardness of the programme...

I watched one episode and I felt embarrassed at how awful it was. That was just one episode though.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is phenomenal. I'm with Dan on the Crazy Eyes Killa episode, I also greatly enjoyed the Doll, and the one where Larry interrupts the baptism. fucking hilarious. I also really, really enjoy it when Larry "wins".

one of my favourite moments is in the doll episode (i think) when Larry goes to the woman's toilet with a bottle of water. He has nowhere to put the water so he puts it down his pants, little girl comes in, excited to see Larry so she hugs him to say thanks for getting her doll back, and then leaves screaming "mummy theres a man in the toilet with something hard down his pants"

I thought we were Cool De La!?
I love Curb, got series' 1, 3, 4 and 5 now. Love them all. It's become a ritual that anyone who comes to the flat and hasn't seen it is forced to watch as many episodes as they can take. The Terrorist Attack from series 3 was on a couple of nights ago, as was The Car Pool Lane (brilliant!!) from series 4.

Sometimes I prefer watching Arrested Development though.

i've only seen series one of curb, and maybe not even all of that, but i thought it was great... if i had money to buy dvds with, i would spend that money on buying dvds of curb your enthusiasm, amongst other things.
