Dave Spikey is a repulsive, old, sub pub-comedian fuckwit and is about as funny as a Dundee taxi driver. Only I do observational working-class humour well.

Yeah, Peter Kay and Dave Spikey are like the annoying uncle that comes to weddings but no-one actually wants there.
Peter Kay has been doing the same jokes since the Sunday Show. Admittedly though, they did a bang up job on Phoenix Nights. |

Dave Spikey doesn't even fail to be funny in a new and inventive way. At least he's not Jimmy Carr though.
Peter Kay makes me chuckle on the odd occasion but his mildly amusing observations and hyperactive fat kid persona aren't substantial enough to sustain me. Pheonix nights and that Peter Kay thing were good, Max and Paddy on the other hand is an absolute stinker. The best stand up comic around just now is Frankie Boyle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxXjZx6ERPk |

Dave Spikey isn't very funny, the odd chuckle but pretty lame. Peter Kay however is pretty funny he has a personality that shines through his act as opposed to Spikeys gag reel style.
Frankie Boyle is ace! |

I havent been impressed with Spikey outwith Pheonix nights. I can say the same for Steve Coogan though, i only find him funny in scripted comedy prgrammes, his live stuff leaves me cold. I like Peter Kay, although i am wishing he'd write some new material. I dont think ive ever seen Frankie Boyle :s
I really like Armando Iannucci at the moment, genius, anyone who saw Time Trumpet must agree! |
