Heard about the show on South Park but that was first I've seen of it. Have to agree, ethically it is probably unsound but it does make "good tv".

I very much doubt the show's primary "goal" is for legal justice. Wouldn't take a top class lawyer, or really a qualified one, to put together a reasonable entrapment defense case... The evidence would be pretty easy to find I imagine...

If it results in them being able to get away with it, then I'd say it's ethically wrong. Otherwise, I don't really have a problem with it, they're paedos after all.

I'm pretty sure that with all the fickle laws, especially in the U.S. that the guy wouldn't have been shown on tv had he not given permission. So we can be pretty sure this guy is both a paedophile and willing to admit it on tv. I don't see anything ethically wrong with airing that. Unless he's an actor.

As for entrapment, I think it's a bullshit reason to overturn a guilty charge. If a player gets played, that to me is justice.

The law in the area that has the shows filmed posts details of the people arrested so im fairly sure its not staged.

Perverted Justice (i think thats their name) post a lot more details on them!
