My acoustic gigs

I've been putting on alot of acoustic gigs recently and there's many more to come in the future. They've all consisted of about 8 or 9 acts who I've changed around to get different line-ups but usually with a couple of the same bands playing every week. Also they've all been free so far and I plan to keep it that way. What is the general opinion of the same bands playing too much? Would you say that I need to get more acts as it'd just boring and you wouldn't want to see the same acts anymore? Or would you say that since its free and since the bands are good you don't mind coming along and enjoying the music (even if you've heard them before)?

If anyone is interested in doing acoustic gigs feel free to send me a pm or e-mail me at indirev@hotmail.com

Well I think they're fantastic, although it would be nice to see some new faces.

it's nice hearing the same band a few times, but when the line up is exactly the same it does get a bit more boring.

more bands with more rotation of bands who play together would be better.

I'd definately agree that different acts are needed. It's even more difficult now that I've taken on the job of filling every wednesday night at the Balcony, aswell as every second sunday at Jaffrey's Bar. I do have a few more people lined up though.

i think the acoustic nights have been good, as its given us a chance to get known. but shortly its gonna become a little harder for us to get up to Dundee, as we're going back to Uni and College, so make good time hearing us just now.
but yeah i think changing the line up is always good, keeping the same line up all the time would be like following a festival around for months, hearing the same bands everynight

then again, students will be coming back to Dundee also....it would be cool for some of them to get involved no? plus that would bring a more diverse crowd.....no? oh i dunno......i like to see indie rev and goldbloom and i like playing ourselves but it would be cool also to meet other people....i appreciate the effort on your part to organise these gigs and the other day at the Nether was excellent....

if we can at all be of service please be in touch.....

we could do a "dundee acoustic underground" festival or a wee intoxication trip somewhere.......

keep them up, dunno if it was the same night but i was at one in pivo's a little while ago it was nice and chilled (had the car and there was no way i was getting up to sing without being cunted)

keep them going, your bound to get new people coming along now that uni's back - try posting on the dusa forums in their band society section
