demonstration against uni top up fee's

just got back from london, was at the NUS demonstration against uni top up fee's.there were 3100 students in total!i havent seen any of the news coverage yet but the press were everywhere.they are thinking about having another demonstration in dundee in the near future if anyone would be interested?

excellent, Im gutted I coulndt make it down, there was quite a lot from Abertay going. Was speaking to the Abertay student president and shes wanting to arrange an all Dundee demo from dundee uni, abertay, dundee college etc, so amazingly Im up for that

i think its probly bets to leave here, but when a date is announced for the Dundee demo start a thread called "Important announcement: all students read" in general and link to here or something.

to be honest I dont think most people would read/care in general discussions unless its something imminent that will affect them, which is how theyev got rid of grants, got in loans and fees etc, by saying new systems will start in "4years" when the current students know they wont be at uni so are apathetic to future system, and the people who will be students at that time are still at school so are ignorant* of the future system

but then im being cynical _and_ ranting now ament I :s

*ingorant in the actual meaning of the word, not the insulting sense.

im as cynical as ever...but this is very important and i think it something that more people should be aware of so perhaps a move to the general discussion would be a good idea...mind you it would probably just get filled with "bloody students" jokes.

lol, yeah i would be interested. ive just started uni like 6 weeks ago and its unbelievable the amount of money i go thru already nevermind the government wantin even more

I'd be up for it, despite getting my fees paid for me and getting a bursary and all the rest, i'm still against them going up.

I'm up for it, cause if the demonstrations are successful then I can continue to laugh at all my overseas buds who are paying out their rectum
