Artist interested in Dundee music/rock scene

Ive been contacted by someone at the DCA about an artist thats coming to Dundee and wanting to find out about the local music scene in Dundee.

stuff I will take along:
info about venues, how gigs are promoted, main promoters, variety of bands we get up. I'll also be mentioning/plugging UGS, so if anyone has any info they want me to take along that would be great. Suggested ideas for contributing info

* you make a fanzine
* in a band and have views about gigging locally
* under 18 - availability of gigs that cater to you
* you promote gigs
* you run a venue that puts on gigs
* DJ at club nights

Basically anything I can pass on to let him know about the rock "scene" in Dundee will be appreciated. If you run a fanzine or have a cd then if you give me a copy and ill pass on if you want, just make sure theres some contact details for *you* accompanying it. Not sure exactly whats happenning apart form Im meeting for a chat/interview so if anyone else is willing to do similar then let me know and Ill pass your contact details on, but I dont know the size of project hes doing, if its only on Dundee or if its the only project hes doing whilst here.

So if you have anything *positive* and/or *constructive* to help out it would be greatly appreciated

Update: I will be meeting with him on Wednesday morning and he'll be here Wednesday and Thursday.

It is attitudes like yours that prevent the cross-pollinisation of the arts. I hope that if you ever ask a community to help you they tell you to 'fuck off'.

Since he's only here for Wednesday and Thursday, maybe we could offer a little help. Surely it would be better to get opinions from folks like ourselves that are part of and know a bit about any type of scene in the town.

I doubt he'd get a good impression if he was left to his own devices and walked into a gig by some dodgy covers band in a town centre pub.

He's only visiting after all.
