UGS General Discussion posting guidelines

These guidelines should be adhered to, in conjunction with the General UGS Posting Guidelines.

General Discussion is intended to be the main forum regarding music related discussion. Anything not relating to the list below in some shape or form should go in another, more appropriate forum.

UGS should be kept as 'work safe' as possible. Many users visit the site while at work and shouldn't have to fear clicking a thread containing vulgar or disgusting images. So try not to post anything 'not work safe' (NWS) in any of the forums, if you must, then label them as such.

Topics suitable for General Discussion:

• Bands you love and hate
• Your band
• The Record / Music Industry
• Music Watchdog / Copyright Groups and Authorities
• Copying / Pirating music
• Local Bands
• Music genres and styles
• Signed bands and artists (Discussion of actual music releases should go in Play List)
• Concert / Gig venues
• Concert / Gig promoters
• TV and Movie Soundtracks are ok here or in TV and Film
• Computer game Soundtracks are ok in here or in Gaming Zone
• Music related media (TV shows, magazines, websites etc.)
• News or other music related information here or in News Articles
• Links to News articles regarding any of the above
  

Topics unsuitable for General Discussion:

• Musical Instruments, equipment, recording and production gear. They should go in Musicians Corner
• Upcoming Gigs, they go in Gig Announcements & Gig Seeking
• Past Gigs, they go in Battle Scars
• Musical Releases, past, present and future, they go in Play list
• Proper reviews, they go in (funnily enough) Reviews
• Problems with UGS, technical or otherwise, they go in Site Feedback
• Non-music related, "off topic" discussion, goes in The Lounge
• Stupid threads, they go in Bollocks only!
