well if a concert cant it be made like any big venue..... has a bar but age limit is say 16+ with id in say secc you are sold so my defence is kids into the gigs (if not causing trouble) but not aloud drink unless proof of id is showen |

it costs more money and a lot more effort on the part of venues to make a gig +16 and check all id's. it's effort they just don't want to use because they don't lose anything by making a gig +18. underagers drink £1 cans of coke etc.
the secc and other venues are different, they're not bars primarily and so care more about ticket sales than drinks sales. it comes down to the fact that you're hiring a pub, not a concert venue or a function suite and if they want to bother doing something they will. if not they'll just say no, it's their money that's being risked |

ach let them do what they want. Loadsa folk at gigs = good, even if theyre drunk or whatever. It wasnt too long ago everyone was bummed about hardly anyone coming to gigs. If they get chucked then so be it.

This is obviously not the case in the Westie. I'm pretty sure it is partly the promoters responsibility to not let loads of underagers in. |

Fuck it, the more ppl at gigs the better, we are fucking lucky that the westy hasn't taken a stand against underagers coming in! I look at this as a positive thing. plus iv always disliked the doghouse because, my view on it was 1. The Old bouncers were fucking cocks!! who got underage chicks to give them blowjobs round the back and were probably ex offenders of some sort. 2. The pub was minky as fuck, Def had some drug goings on happening in there. My friend even caught some shady stuff happening with drugs, and you could see the bouncers were like what?? really? even tho there faces clearly said "shit that was a close one!" 3. Hardly any seats and TOILET UPSTAIRS !!!!!WHAQTS THAT ALL ABOUT EHH?? HAHA But if this new girl is dead serious about making a go of it then damn straight!! just make sure she dosent get the same fucking dodgy drug MOB that were there before! and make this a top class gig venue as the place has heaps of potential!! What about more action people? If you don't like a venue, don't go, don't book gigs there. Its that simple. If your an important customer, they'll either make changes, or try and get other important customers, or maybe you'll have to accept that you weren't as important a customer as you thought you were? Theres plenty of venues around the place, I think people pretty much have to accept that your not going to get 'the one' when it comes to a venue. Move around, change every so often. If a venues good, stick with it, when it turns bad, ditch it. Simple supply and demand, its not a hard concept to think about.

One thing that courtyard could do with is a touch more privacy in my opinion... More of a feeling of "Im inside here, and I don't see to much of the outside" and vice versa.... Anyone know what I'm saying? Sarah seems like a sound lady... I hope something comes out of it! Liam |

i think the beat bar is only really buying the job of running it basically. the brew (or whoever) still owns the building, the fixtures and you still have to buy the same amount of drinks off them each week/month.
the beat bars a good venue but leasing it would be a wrong move. well thats the way i understand it from neil. |
