High School protest becomes embarrasing Riot...
i just thought i'd post this because i'm really fucking pissed off...
today some kids in my school had the smart idea to start an anti-war demonstration at 11 o clock - during class time. There were rumours going about but noone took it seriously. The first question i ask is this? WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY GOING TO ACHIEVE BY PROTESTING INSIDE A SCHOOL!... well that was answered when not just a couple, but some 300 or 400 pupils gathered outside the school... it started off peacefully enough with a drummer leading and a few banners being carried by people... despite the fact these kids should have been in class at the time, i thought it was fair enough if they wanted to show their opinion in this way. After 15 minutes or so a lot of people returned to the school, and thats when the trouble began... a remaining 200 or so decided to take their so called 'protest' down into the town... what happens when 200 young teenagers are left rowdy and unsupervised?... they carried on down the road, throwing bottles, cans and stones at passing cars... throwing stones at houses and the police station... throwing stones at the police.... and blocking the road so cars could not pass.... a lot of the bastards had returned to school by this time, and one set off the fire alarm during the 4th period of the day - whilst i was trying to learn my course so i could pass my fucking exams... ok ok so that was tolerable... then the next lesson - once again - fire alarm... there we go - 2 hours of my learning disrupted because of some stupid cunts... i ask this - do they even know what the fuck is going on in the iraq crisis? do they know where iraq is? most of them probably dont - the fact that i heard some bitch saying - "dont bomb tirark" just proves this... I am against the possible war against Iraq without UN permission.... i was involved in the anti war demonstrations in glasgow.... but what the fuck was today about? 200 teenagers endangering the lives of others for a cause they care fuck all about anyway... in other words - a teenage riot... The rector risks losing his job over this - and fair enough - he and I have not exactly got on well over the past 6 years, but nobody deserves to lose their job over the actions of a mob of out control kids... end of rant... you'll probably read this in the papers soon enough anyway

thats totally disgusting. Sounds to me like a bunch of kids decided theyd use an anti war rally as an excuse to be fucking tubes. Really anti war and pacifist of them to spit on old men and throw things at policemen. Fucking idiots |

i went to college in cupar, the college was oposite from bell baxter. we even used some of the schools sports fields for my course & i have to say this does come as quite a shock. theres only 2 places in fife where i wouldnt be surprised by something like this and they are leven & kirckaldy, but cupar?? it seemed like a decent place when i was there

now that the weekend has past - looking back on it - maybe i've changed my mind... i dont mind the fact that the protest was held - and it was a small minority that caused the trouble - my article was a little harsh... it was just the tediousness of it all...
the rector has quickly proceeded to place the blame of the situation on the prefects of the school who didnt do enough do stop the problems (im one of them by the way) and he's calling a meeting with us later in the week... what the fuck were we supposed to do? i think this is where my 'resignation' comes in... cunts

here knee cow...how many prefects were there??? cos u said there was about 200 kids who ran riot?? i doubt theres that many prefects at ur school. it seems like a good old fashioned case of "pase the buck", if the rector knew about this "protest" then he should have had teachers supervising. he cant blame u for what happend! this is where he earns his money and takes responsibility for what HIS pupils have done.

- there are 70 or so prefects, soon to be only 50... around 20 of us are planning on 'resigning' (if you can call it that) by the end of the week... over past years there have been 100 prefects each year but they are already 30 short this year...
according to my 'sources' including a member of senior management, the most prefects that have resigned in a single year in the history of the school is 3... that figure is looking to be around 30 or more by the end of this year, so hopefully they'll realise theyre doing something very wrong... there were only 2 prefects involved in the protest itself... - Ally, how old is this Katy Callaghan person?
