We got Sons & Daughters and Oceansize in this week. Supposed to be getting most new releases from next week. They're just on the shelf with the CD version of the single on the new release part of the singles wall.

that would have been 'rock pile' (now CD3000 or some computer shop), and, yes an excellent wee shop for bargain bootlegs and herbs, as the dude who ran it was a stoner and stocked more than mere music. i miss the smell of his warez.

there was also another wee yellow-painted music shop half-way up the hilltown (next door to the dundee pie shop) called 'totally mental' who at the other end of the spectrum seemed to make their way in life via stolen goods (did i mention the hilltown?), this was an excellent place to acquire brand new cd's at rock bottom prices.

both of these small establishments fell to grouchos about the time grouchos moved into 1 perth road

now there's no competition, which in a way i can understand when many an afternoon i'd buy a cd at one of the two and then end up going to groucho's anyway to buy the new cd cases they stocked as rock pile and totally mental's stock were usually fucking arsed. grouchos used to stock crystal cases, now they seem to even replace damaged cases of trade-ins, no new-comer can really stand up to them.

and they still deserve their title as one of scotland's premier music exchange and ticket outlets as i've recently bought a vaselines LP and a big fat book on bill hicks, all for less than erm, a rangers match.

Dundee, LOL. You go into town and then you can catch a bus or a train at either bus or train stations, Megabus can be good. You think about what you want to buy before you go. You go to Glasgow and you go to Mono, its near St Enoch's shopping centre in a place called Merchant city (they also have lovely vegan food and nice homemade ginger beer and Stephen Pastel works there! BONUS), if in Edinburgh go to Avalanche on Cockburn street as its near the town centre and youll find it easy, if they don't have what you want ask.

Alternatively you go to http://www.vinylnet.co.uk/. They're good. Virgin or Fopp might say they'll get things in for you but, they're shit. I've asked for some semi and not very obscure stuff before and they really haven't helped me one tiny bit apart from by promising the goods and not getting them for you. They dont seem to be capable of dealing with indie labels as of yet. Theres a record shop in St Andrews which is though. You will HAVE to order things though as their selection is also fairly limited, although they constantly have a supply of semi dencent stuff.

Or you can pot luck it at Groucho's or charity shop it. This will take a long time though to find anything particularly worthy. 'sup to you.

If the distrubuter doesn't have it, the order can't be fulfilled. Small indie labels use small distributers. When it comes to vinyl, most releases sell out on the first pressing, no repress = no more copies.
