Letting Websites?

did anyone here find their flat on, or is anyone aware of any letting websites where I can advertise a room for rent?

so far my options seem limited to:

-signs in the west end
-advertising at the university
-asking landlord to advertise through commercial channels

I went through the process of advertising on Flats to Rent in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds Lettingweb since it's probably the best site for flatsearching I've come across, but it's actually a subsiduary they use, Roommates Finder - 190,000 Roommate ads with EasyRoommate - FREE service, and they ask for a collossal fee to let you have peoples information or to advertise your room, so that plan is out of the window. any suggestions?

Belvoir rent properties for folk, try them. my friend Kerry has her flat rented out from them, and they take 16% of the income, but yet have just recarpted the whole place so she's well chuffed.

I don't actually own the property, I'm renting now and looking for someone to fill the room ASAP.

I've put ads on Gumtree and about 3 or 4 other online services. I'm trying to get in touch with my landlord to see if she can advertise commercially on my behalf also.

can anyone suggest another way to make professions etc aware of the room? Maxi recommended putting signs up in Ninewells for doctors/medical students.

You should put something up on the notice boards at the school of nursing and midwifery because there are a lot of physios and radiographers etc living in the halls there while they find a flat, and if you are looking for dr type people then I would stick some up on the boards around the hospital, there are a few on level 5 beside the drs lounge (beside the cafeteria). I think theres also boards on the bit heading along to the medical school lecture theatres and im sure theres some in the medical library. For both of those you turn left as soon as you get into the hospital (just incase you didnt know)

Blackadders are great until you leave then seem to become total arses.

took me three months of producing bank statements etc to prove they had been paid all the money i should have.

I've used clickflatshare before in Glasgow, that was pretty good.

The letting agent i was using for my most recent flat in Glasgow were totally ridiculous. I've lost all faith in agents. Private rentals all the way. (Y)
