Jethro Tull

Went to see Jethro Tull in Perth with my dad last night.

I'm not their biggest fan but like a few of their tunes.

I have to say they were bloody marvelous!!!

Ian Anderson may be getting on a bit but he has more energy than is natural for a human being.

It was great to go to a show where you never quite knew what was coming next, could be get a blues number, a jazz number, a classical/jazz fusion number, folk or prog rock(even the dreaded drum solo appeared at one point).

There were also a lot of bearded men present. I felt somewhat inadequate.

Wish I had gone, had to work unfortunately. Gutted.

I suspect you weren't the only person who missed out. The place looked sold out.

Huge diversity of age ranges in attendance too. Plenty fathers and sons by the look of it.

They are one of these bands dads play that results in their kids asking "Dad, what the hell is that????"

Jethro Tull are awesome.

I believe Ian Anderson almost became the vocalist for Led Zeppelin at some point.

It seems that all bands knew each other at the time.Plant ended up writing some Jethro Tull lyrics.

In fact there are suggestions that the Eagles "borrowed" from the Jethro Tull song "we used to know" when writing Hotel California.

Wouldn't be surprised if Clapton or George Harison played on EVERY albumin the 60s and70s ;-)

My flatmate's dad was the manager for Jethro Tull in the 70's. He also booked The Who for their Leeds gig which the "Live at Leeds" album comes from.

Just thought I'd chip this in!
