My internet thingy is absolutly fucked. You know how some pictures and images come up as a square with a red cross on it? well EVERY image on any web page does that. i've no idea how to fix it but its making the net pretty much non-useable. its crap. Anyone any ideas?

Nae idea mate... There's an option in IE to turn off images, but it should show the image placeholder, rather than the red cross. Installed anything freaky recently?

I've got quite a few. First try going to view-encoding and set it to auto. if this keeps changing you're going to need to fanny about in the registry as something has fucked it up. Won't go into detail here as there are around 6 different things it could be and I'm at work at the moment.

Check if it's with gifs and jpegs as well as that could narrow the problem down to a graphics app. Quicktime fucked mine up about a month or so ago.

One thing you could try is to reset your file associations for gifs and jpegs to IE, but that doesn't work all the time. I'm guessing your using win 98/XP and IE6 I'll give you more infor when I get home
