Deja Vu

Does, anyone ever experience REALLY strong deja vu, like, frighteningly strong? I've just had it reading a post on here, right down to the sigs used, avatars used, people posting, everything I had seen before. I swear it felt like I was reading the post ahead of what it was saying, but now can't for the life of me recall even what it was about...

I've done similar things like this before, once whilst it was happening, I said to myself "I've been here before, someones about to call me", then my fone went off. Then I said to myself, "Its Helen", looked at the fone, and indeed was my friend Helen.

I've even had a kind of cascading deja vu feeling, like a feeling of deja vu, about having deja vu, about having deja vu.... I actually had to sit down when this happened.

Does anyone else experience this, or am I on my own here? Mebbe I'm just a freak :P

I had 3, proper, hardcore deja vu's in one day recently. there are also several recurring deja vu's that I have, and if I concentrate I can almost remember what they are. it's a fucking weird feeling...

I get them all the time but its like im a spectator of things happening, its like watching a film, it happens for a few seconds and i know whats gonna happen next but i cant say anything, im just kinda spellbound, freaky feeling

Yeah, been getting them really strong recently, was curious as to what causes it. Read somewhere that one possible cause is 'overrunning' of memory into areas its not supposed to. The memory area of the brain has areas dedicated to short, mdeium and long term memory. One suggestion is wrong placement of short term memory into long term space, giving the feeling that what your doing 'has been done before'. It's totally freaky experience, can be kinda fun sometimes though, makes me feel psychic, I know whats coming next

seriously tho yeah i get it sometimes when it lasts for a few seconds (which is a long time for deja vu i think) its freaky but i kinda like it

yea, it's something that happens to me all the time, it's kinda scary tho, thinmking that you've experienced the same thing twice.

I hate it when i mention to someone that I've just got deja vu and they look at me as if i'm off my head!

correct me if i'm wrong, but i do believe there have been one too many deja vu related jokes in this thread.

and now someones probably going to post the exact same thing i just said. and then again. and then again. until this forum explodes, and then the cheese and jam monsters will have taken over the earth once and for all. We're all doomed. Doomed i tell you..
