i have noticed that everyone on here is under the age of 30.
if only undergroundscene became totally global, the kids could overthrow the record companys and music would no longer be a comodity and itd be a form of espression and freedom again.
any ideas as to how to make this happen?

Seriously tho, the fact music is a commodity doesn't bother me, if we played for the simple fact we're expressing ourselves then all the rockers of the world would be poor, if I'm gonna be the next Phil Collins I really want to be stinking fucking rich.

It does bug me tho that major bands get paid like 15-20% of what they earn and the corporates pocket the rest, hell they may put millions into distribution and get your music on sale in Abergatvanistan, but in the end they are nothing more than banks - If we could afford to distribute, we would - so why do they pocket upto 80% of record sales, that's some interest rate. I wish Lloyd's TSB were a label.

All we can do is form huge arena rock bands and tell Mr. EMI "Hell no sir, you'll take 10% and you'll fucking love it! Now suck my toes."

Simple as that.

Guess I'm not only the new boy (just moved to Aberdeen and need some info regarding decent clubs/venues) but I also appear to be the odd one out (Over 30).
