Photoshop CS3 Beta is here!
Downloading this just now and thought i'd give you the heads up. Apparently Lynda.com have some tutorials on how to use the new features.
From what i've read though it seems that the ability to arbitrarily rotate the canvas has not been implemented. Shame. |

I've just watched the Lynda.com PCS3 cd and holeee shit they have implemented some top stuff!!!!!
I can't wait to order the full CS3 suite in the spring. Honestly, some of the stuff is just awesome, my favourites being the new photomerge, vanishing point, a good brightness/contrast that doesn't clip your highlights and shadows and best of all... ...smart filters!! You can now apply filters to an image the same way you apply styles. Previously if you applied a filter it would be destructive to your image, now they are non destructive as you have the ability to have multiple filters and are able to switch them on and off, change opacity of the filter and also the blending mode!! You also get smart filter masks too! The amount of new stuff CS3 has opened up to me for graphics work is just inspiring ![]() WOOHOO! Last edited by pixelsink : 23rd December 2006 at 02:43 PM. |

Smart filters sound awesome. I've often thought that a lot of features in photoshop should be implemented in a non-destructive way, and I don't see any reason why they can't be, as you'd only have to recalculate the effects when an affected layer changed. It's fucking irritating when you have to flatten a fuckload of layers in order to be able to apply some effect to them.

Can you change the width of your brush? Cos drawing pubes on a cock and balls in MS Paint with the default brush makes the pubes too thick, like wee nails protruding from your sack.
