Good places to buy webspace

Hello. I'm looking to buy some web-space - not needing any special requirements in the way of scripting etc.

Can anyone recommend any places?

Don't most ISP's still provide a small amount of space for free. BY/Virgin used to give 30Meg for free with a gig of bandwidth a month I think. Depends what you need it for (site, image/files dump, etc).

Yeah, I thought so too. My old BY account used to give me 30meg or so, but since moving house and having to resort to using Virgin's ADSL service instead, it seems the webspace inclusion is now gone for some reason.

Looking to use it for a band site. Maybe 500meg max; no issues with bandwidth or caps etc, I doubt we get very many visits anyway.

Edit: Actually 500meg is far too much - we got by on using 30mb before.

I use dreamhost personally.

Their disk space and bandwidth limits are massive, but bear in mind that you could never really hit those limits in practice, as they limit the amount of CPU you're allowed to use. Good that you don't have to worry about getting charged for going over your bandwidth limits though.

Nah, only $120 which should be refunded soon.

I will be removing my credit card details from my account though!

Yeah I was just thinking it would be pretty annoying for people who only had ~£10 in the account with a SO before it comes out or something, bank charge city.

I use urevised.com and something like webhostinguk... urevised have certainly been the better host.

Excellent up time, the chaps are very helpful and friendly plus it is very cheap.

Yeah, it would really have sucked for me if I'd had used my debit card rather than my credit card!
