Anything that gets Cody and DiBiase over withthe crowd then I am all for it.
I like DiBiase already but Cody needs work. First of all they should change his ring attire. I feel they will anyway but the sooner the better. DiBiase reminds me of Chris Nowinski actually. What does everyone think of his music by the way? I kinda like it now. |

He deserves no credit what so ever, he started out with a pretty good gimmick that could transend from Heel to Face if need be (the rapper gimmick) but WWE soon abandoned that when they realised he could be a walking talking merchendising tool, and that's what's ruined Cena. He has poor in ring skills, a small repetoire of moves he uses and seems more content to punch and kick his way to a victory even at main events, even at fucking Wrestlemania (his match with Michaels is a prime example), his mic skills are worthy of a main eventer I guess...but still, that's like spraying perfume on a pile of shit. I hate to sound like a total ROH fanboy...but I really can't stand Cena or how he's been used. |

i was in the crowd for that Cena/HBK match, and hating Cena live is a great experience, WWE knows Cena is hated by the male demographic 18-40, and loved by everyone else. How many times have you watched a WWE show to see Cena lose?

Bit harsh on Cena Prozak...I think he is an incredibly hard working guy who deserves a tonne of credit for the way he conducts himself. He gets well too much shite.
I hated Cena when he constantly had the title butthe turning point for me was his match with Umaga at the Rumble last year. You can say people carried him or whatever but it takes two to have match. ANy match...good or bad. And his mic skills are excellent. Maybe not so much in his current face role as it is really cheesy most of the time but we have all seen him as a heel with promos. He is pretty class. Edge and Jericho hold the the award for the best promos though. Cena actually had a great promo before his macth with HHH a little while ago. Some people just dont like Cena. That is cool. I understand why as well. |

i dont like Cena as a wrestler, but in Detroit & Aberdeen i saw him interacting with fans in a way no one else did, especially the Aberdeen house show, he made his way to the disabled kids and signed/took photos til they all got something.
Was a classy move. he works his ass off for the company, and deserves some reward for that. |

I saw him at that Aberdeen show too. It was real classy.
Say what you want about him but the guy works his ass off and gives back. Dont belive I have ever read of a fan report or any sort of report claiming he has acted up in a negative way. A true pro who is only trying to do his bit. He has been pushed to the moon and for a large part of it, it has been frustrating to watch with the booking. The superman, five moves to a finish act was horrible to watch. Beating Angle 3 times in a row (it might have been 4) was the final straw for me for a while but the guy deserves respect. Dont mean you have to like him but anyone thatgives their life to wrestling like he does I appreciate. |

What I'm trying to say is, Cena isn't a good wrestler. He rarely deviates from brawling and the usual signature moves, I find his matches boring and repetitive, the only reason his name carries any weight is because he shifts so much merch; which is the source of most WWE's income. I don't think he deserves as much credit as he's given and I wouldn't say he works any harder than anyone else on the roster. Fair enough he pays attention to the fans, but I reckon a big part of that is to tie in with his gimmick. Quote:
It's not just Cena that's the problem, he just kind of personifies what most people hate about WWE, they push guys with pretty poor in-ring skills because they sell tickets and soak up all the big talents from the indie scene and under-utilise them...CM Punk is an obvious exception. |

Yeah, I saw him as Prototype in OVW and UPW, he wasn't half bad.
I did mean to make it sound like he had no wrestling skills, he does, he is more content with punching and kicking to victory. And I don't think I can count 5 moves Cena does, that wee dance and fist drop thing, something that looks like a DVD and an STF...that's maybe it apart from the occasional body slam or headlock. Austin, Michaels etc. had defined gimmicks or characters...sure Austin was just a guy that was hard as fuck...but that was his gimmick. It doesn't work with Cena, I think the WWE writing team are keeping him out of a gimmick so it doesn't distract people from the t-shirt he is wearing, maybe I'm just a cynic. Bret Hart was a technical genius...I don't think you could say he had a 5 moves of doom move set, sure he had signature moves but there was a lot of technical stuff in there too. I don't like John Cena's character, but I've grown to accept that I'll always hate WWE in some way...but I still watch it if it's on just incase they decide to have a good match. |

Thats decently fair to say. I get where your coming from and their are aspects I do agree with you on.
Anyways...shifting away from Cena and back to Punk. Did anyone read that his title match with JBL got a 4.12 in the ratings Stateside? Albeit in the overrun but RAW has been doing 3.2's of late on a regular basis so it is a good wee stat. |
