Alan Warner
I'm guessing I can post here about authors?
What do folks think of Alan Warner? I've just about finished reading "The sopranos", and it is very good. But I think my favorite is "These demented lands". I love the way he creates this alternate Scotland that is instantly recognisable. His use of the Scots language is good too, even the way he manipulates the words makes his writing look and feel alive. When I'm reading it's like I'm always trying to catch the dialogue before it disappears into the ether. I think he's probably the best author of contemporary fiction in Scotland. E
