Awkward Squad 1… Formed as a pick up band in 1970, with drummer bass player, guitarist and occasional vocalist from Glenda Slag ( blues band, Newport Rock Festival, local support for Slade.) Mid 70s Vocalist worked as a DJ in Scandinavia then to Ireland formed Spurts, early punk band, later working for U2, Stiff little fingers et.al.. Bass and Guitar into folk-rock scene played with future members of Wet Wet Wet. Drummer via Rizillos and Human League and into the Theatre World.

Awkward Squad 2….. Reformed for ill-fated album and tour deal in the early eighties with keyboard from the McZappas, new drummer and rhythm.

Awkward Squad 3….. Reformed twenty-first century, new drummer from rival seventies band, son of drummer on rhythm, Auchtermuchty Traditional Music Festival 2003, Dundee Blues festival 2004. Central Scotland bars, private functions. Added occasional sax player end of 2004 Shifty—another refugee from McZappas. O’Henrys Jazz Cellar Edinburgh.

Awkward Squad 4…. Original drummer from 1970s returns. Animal Farm Collessie.

Awkward Squad 5…. 2006 Ash Lee singer joins. Album recorded. A few local gigs. 2007 Release of album “ Shouting to Off-shore Islands
